Privacy policy
Draft, not yet in effect. Applies to the StatementSheet add-on for Google Sheets and this website.
Your statements
When you choose a PDF, StatementSheet reads it inside the add-on's sidebar in your browser, using a copy of the open-source pdf.js library that ships with the add-on. The PDF file is never uploaded to us, to an AI or OCR service, or to anyone else. The transactions it finds are written only to the Google Sheet you have open, through Google Apps Script running in your own Google account. We do not receive, copy, store or sell your statements or transactions.
Data we do handle
| Data | Why | Where it is kept |
|---|---|---|
| Your Google account email address | To check whether this account has a paid plan. | The add-on turns it into a one-way, salted SHA-256 hash. Only the hash is sent to our licence server and passed to Stripe as a reference when you click a plan. The server never sees your email from the add-on. |
| Subscription record (from Stripe) | To unlock the paid plan, renew it, and end it when you cancel or get a refund. | Our licence server on Cloudflare stores the email hash(es), the Stripe subscription ID, the plan, its status and the paid-until date. Stripe stores your payment details under Stripe's privacy policy. We never see your full card number. |
| Free-statement counter and licence token | To count this month's free statements and remember your plan. | Google's per-user script storage (UserProperties) in your Google account. |
| Import log | To warn you before you import the same statement twice. | A "Statements" tab in your own spreadsheet (file name, period, balances, row count and a fingerprint). Delete the tab any time. |
| Standard web request logs | To keep the service running and stop abuse. | Cloudflare, which may log IP addresses for a short time. |
We use no analytics, no ads and no tracking cookies, and we do not sell or share personal data. Use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Google permissions
StatementSheet asks for three permissions: to see and edit only the spreadsheet it is opened in, to show its sidebar, and to see your email address (for the licence check above). It cannot open your other files or your Drive.
Keeping and deleting data
We keep a subscription record while your plan is active and as required for tax and accounting. Email us to delete it. Uninstalling the add-on stops all access; the counter and token stay in your Google account's script storage until you remove the add-on's access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Children
StatementSheet is not directed at children under 13.
